Our boutique hotel combines luxury and premium service with a calm atmosphere inspired by Africa. It didn’t come out of nowhere. This idea was born on one of many journeys of Martin Ditmar through South Africa. We try to prepare for our guests an unforgettable stay and we also take part in many charity projects.

HISTORY How it all began

Journey to Africa

I was in South Africa for the first time during spring 2012. It was love at first sight - it was during that time where I had the idea to use the concept of the local boutique hotels in my home country, in the Zlín region. I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful country seven times already. On my travels, through the continent, I also visited Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, Zanzibar and other islands. I was fascinated by the beauties of African safaris, refined wine tastes, genuineness of the locals and the neocolonial style.

2012

Reconstruction

I bought the family house in 2007 and lived here for some time. Then I traveled the world and came back from South Africa with the idea to reconstruct, expand and transform it into a boutique hotel. This is how the Villa Memories started. A careful reconstruction was carried out ecologically and with special care to the surrounding nature. We use ecological heat pumps, our own well and our irrigation system runs exclusively on rainwater. The interior is custom made out of Indonesian teak wood scented with essential oils.

2012

Grand opening

We opened our doors in 2014. However, our first-ever client visited us already in 2013 before our grand opening. The construction company was finalizing the Villa and we started our booking system. Two hours later came the first request from the CEO of EYELEVEL Filip Žák and his friends. He wasn’t only a satisfied guest but he also became one of our ambassadors. „I visit exceptional places around the whole world and the concept and service of Villa Memories enthused me,“ says Filip. Our guests don’t come only to spend a night but to be taken care of. Experience it by yourself.

2014

We were awarded
as the world’s TOP 4

We have a lot of guests from the United States of America, Great Britain, South Korea and also the Czech Republic. Most of them love to come back. One of our happy guests from Great Britain signed us up for the Boutique Hotel Awards 2018. In November, we became the best family boutique hotel in Europe and placed in the TOP 4 worldwide. We joined an exclusive club of luxury destinations such as Thailand, Bali or Costa Rica. All of this thanks to our individual approach and premium service.

The Czech boutique hotel Villa Memories is located in South-East Moravia in the beautiful landscape of the Hostýn Hills not far away from the regional seat Zlín, White Carpathians and Beskids Mountains. Surrounded by woods, you will find peace and quiet and relax from everyday rush. You will certainly appreciate the strategic location in Central Europe, near capitals like Prague, Berlin, Vienna or Bratislava. We will gladly provide transport to our Villa. We can send a car or a private helicopter.

Owner and host

Martin Ditmar

For twenty years, I have been part of the retail sector not only in the Czech Republic but also in Central and Eastern Europe. I was at the beginning of LIDL Czech Republic and LIDL Slovakia – our team opened fifty stores in both countries. Furthermore, I worked in Russian-speaking countries such as Russia, Ukraine, or Belarus. During the last years, I have been lecturing and developing the DetoxMe App based on Ayurveda. Currently, I am a member of the London consulting company The Lehman Group, which offers services in international trade, business recovery plans or various business cases. And last but not least, the owner and your host in the Villa Memories.
